Amazing life!!

We are so fortune to ever get to see this in our lifetime. Lucy, our good friend from Blk 89 was lucky enough to have a pair of birds built a nest right outside her flat on the corridor. The first egg was laid on the 15 Apr, and second on 17 Apr. And TODAY, the birds hatched !! it gorgeous and wonderful.

How it all started

This is boring compared to the video that you are going to see. It all started on the 14 April. the nest was completed, it took about 2 days, they work tirelessly on it thoughout the day and night. On the 15th, 1 egg was laid, then the 2nd one was laid on the 17th.

Hmmm. . . . . . . I must take another picture to show you how close the nest is to the entrance of their house.

Chingay Singapore 2008

This year, Kowloon Club was real honoured to be invited to participate in the Chingay Celebration here is Singapore. Chingay was introduced as a substitute for a different kind of noise: firecrackers. In 1972, the government banned firecrackers after a fatal explosion in the Lunar New Year period killed two people. The ban, although necessary, disappointed many who felt that it dampened the festive spirit.

So now, each year they will celebrate Chinese New Year with a Chingay celebration.

Kowloon Club used the theme of a "Pau San" Buns mountain as the Remote islands in HK celebrates the Buddhist festival with a game like that. People race to get to the top and the buns, the higher the buns are, the higher the score.

Fishing at Kids Kampung

A Great fishing day at Kids Kampong, as we draw near the end of the holidays, we are trying our best to catch up with all the friends. Today, we spent a lovely morning at Pasir Ris, the kids get to enjoy the olden style "logang" (drain) fishing. there were given a very shallow net and the fish proves to be too fast for them. This is until they found a way to corner the fish ;-) We brought home about 30 fish, but will let you know how many are left by tomorrow night.......

They also tried there hands at Rod fishing, once they caught the fish, the uncle will weigh it, for 300g and under, they will get a fighting fish, 300-600g, a little lobster and so on.

Opening of Christmas presents ;-)

What are lovely morning for them, they were so blessed with so many presents.

BTW, this is the first year that we have a probably tree up and it is lovely !

The Trail of Santa

While we were in Perth to visit Kung Kung and PoPo, we visited SantaLand. They had facility for us to email or write to Santa. Both Nigel and Ernest wrote to Santa. Santa told them that he will visit and to leave carrots for Reindeers, and only milk for Santa as Mrs Claus finds him a little overweight.

On the 21st Dec, the boys received a card from Santa Express, in the card, Santa said he has dropped by on the 20th, but since all our windows were locked, he could not leave their gifts. But promised to come back on Christmas Eve.

So tonight, before we went out for Midnight Mass, we left 10 carrots, 1 glass of milk, a Thank you note and the balcony door unlocked.

GUESS WHAT we found when we came back.

Half eaten carrots were scattered over the floor, milk was drank and there were 2 presents left on the table.

There was also a patch of (what look like) saliva on the floor. Must have been from the reindeers.

And since Santa only had 9 reindeers, and we left 1o carrots for them. So Santa took the remaining 1 back for Mrs Claus.

The boys were thrilled and opened their presents, it is Dual Masters Trading cards, which is on the top of their wish list. Something that Mommy refuses to buy for them.

The boys were definitely convinced that Santa and Rudolph have visited, after reindeer droppings have been spotted in the toilet. How well trained they are !!

So did Santa visit you? Have you been good? Or you just don't believe enough?
